THESE ARE OUR CATS! THIS IS MY BLOG!

Rosie and Charley are siblings and best friends. We adopted them
from friends who rescued their little family.

Bugsy showed up on our street on a hot summer day - tiny, hungry, and as it turns out, very lucky.
He thinks Charley is his mum!

There is also the occasional litter of foster kittens . . .

These felines have been kind enough to share the house with us.
We thought we might share them with you.

Ollie: Last of the "Garden Gang"

Little Ollie, aka Earl (as in Earl Grey), is the last one left from the litter of kittens born out by the community gardens. Thank goodness his mom was trapped and spayed!  We hope he can find a home with another playful kitty who needs a friend OR with his pal Bugsy - they're like brothers!

Jasmine gets a new mom - and a new name!

Jasmine went home with Imelda last Sunday to meet her new best friend, who is also named Jasmine! Now the little siamese kitten with the big voice is called Misty. It made ME a little misty to see her go, but she has a wonderful new home and family!

Around the Kitteh Haus

It has been quite a season for kittens!  Little Jasmine and Oliver Twist (Ollie) are the last two left who need to find forever homes. Until then, they are having a swell time with the resident redheads.

Aunt Mari made this playhouse for the kittens,
but apparently it has ageless appeal!
"Geezoontite! You wanna tissue?"

Rosie and Her Bug

Bugsy has really brought out Rosie's maternal instinct.  And all this time we thought she was a grouchy girl!

Kitteh Yoga

The cats practice yoga on a daily basis.  They are able to hold the poses (asanas) for an amazingly long time, breaking their concentration only for tuna. I have heard them chanting - purrrrrr-ommmmm, purrrrrrr-ommmmm. I think Charley and Ollie are natural-born yogis. I look to them for guidance and inspiration.

Sabu and Chai are Adopted - and Transformed!

Sabu and Chai went home with their forever family a few days ago and ascended Mount Olympus to become "Perseus" (Percy) and Annabeth, names chosen by Olivia and Vanessa from the the wonderful book "The Lightning Thief", by Rick Riordan. Percy and Annabeth will join a fabulous menagerie that includes two dogs, three chickens, Opal the cat, Popcorn the guinea pig, and a young corn snake! I'll keep everyone posted on the various introductions.

Kitty Mixer

The new kittens got a clean bill of health last week and were allowed to meet the resident cats.  Bugsy was over the moon to have so many playmates.  Charley got right down to mentoring in the proper way to play and Rosie is trying to teach those little wild things some manners. Now if someone could just teach them to scoop the litter boxes . . .
Charley has his paws full with Jasmine and Chai.
Cuddle Bugsy and Ollie.
"OK, kid - that's really not necessary."
All Chai needs to complete the look is a rhinestone collar.
"So what's for dessert?"
"These kids wear me out!"

In good company.
