THESE ARE OUR CATS! THIS IS MY BLOG!

Rosie and Charley are siblings and best friends. We adopted them
from friends who rescued their little family.

Bugsy showed up on our street on a hot summer day - tiny, hungry, and as it turns out, very lucky.
He thinks Charley is his mum!

There is also the occasional litter of foster kittens . . .

These felines have been kind enough to share the house with us.
We thought we might share them with you.

Look who's eyes are open!

At ten days old, the kittens' eyes are starting to open and they are starting to crawl around more. They travel mostly by belly stroke and wobble-momentum. I mean, just look at that giant bobble head! This little gray-and-white is the biggest, most vocal, and most active kit in the litter. We've been handling them several times a day to start the socialization process (I know, it sucks to be me). They used to respond with mini-hisses - so cute! - but now they seem to enjoy being stroked. Pru is an excellent mom, affectionate and attentive. She is very affectionate with people and seems to be happy to show off her brood!

Welcome to the Curious Adventures of Rosie and Charley . . .

.... and Dear Prudence, too! The cast of kittens will be named as their ears and personalities emerge. I'm new at this blogging thing, so this site will be evolving - at least I hope it will!

To get started, here are some photos of Pru and her kittens. They are a week old now and doing week-old kitten things: eating, sleeping, growing, crying, purring, and the now-popular crawl-all-the-way-around-mom manuever. Videos coming soon!

Yes, those are piles of kitten. The roll call is four black (some with white marks on their bellies), one gray, one gray and white, and one little calico we call Pru Too (or Two). The fun has just begun!
